Worship Around the World

Worship with Mission Team

One of my favorite things with worship is the chance to worship with people that I really don’t know in an intimate setting. This week with Aviator Wellington, a mission team came in this past week to help us with outreach. When they first arrived at the place they were staying we all came together to worship our Father through music. It felt right that we did this too.

Here we are, two groups of people from different parts of this earth that the Lord created, coming together to glorify Him. Why should we not lift our voices in praise?

If you have a mission team coming in, I recommend coming together at least once in worship for a few reasons.

1. The purpose of worship is to bring glory to our Lord. When a mission team comes in, that is what their goal is as well. Since everyone is wanting to bring glory to the Lord with what we do, we should begin with preparing our hearts through worship.

2. I found that this really brought us all closer together as a group. We started off as strangers and now we are all friends that already miss one another. A good team definitely works best together when they are close as a group. We can do more together than on our own.

3. Worshiping together greatly increases our faith. We don’t just sing the songs because they sound pretty and God likes the sound of them. The words in a worship song are supposed to remind us of the glorious things He has done and to better know his will.

4. It’s biblical to do so: “Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his presence. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor.” 1 Chronicles 16:29 NLT

With these things in mind, let us all come together in worship, even if we are strangers to one another. Take rest in the fact that we all have at least one important thing in common, we have Christ in our lives. So long as we have this, we will never truly be strangers to one another but instead brothers and sisters in the holy family of God.
